He knew the answers, that was not the problem, he couldn’t read and understand the questions.
There is such a thing as an I E P, individual education plan, that is supposed to teach in a way that the child is able to learn. In a public school system, there are 25 or more children in a class. So each child is taught the same way. There is not enough support to assist the teacher to help each child in the manner they need to learn. When my son was 40 years old, he was upset to not have learned what most children we taught in grade school. So, he took it upon himself to find a college that would word with learning disabilities. He was on the Dean’s list every semester, and graduated Summa Cum Laude (SCL Highest Honors). He has the brains, only the public school system did not know how to teach him.
